Clever Rabbits
Design for gatefold album package, sticker, CD package, singles digital art, poster. It was an honor to have Giulia Zanzarella create custom ligatures for “Resona” for Ann’s name & title. Photography by Bao Ngo.
The album draws its title from a Chinese idiom — “clever rabbits need three burrows” — referencing recurring imagery found in both Devon’s churches and Chinese cave art, creating a symbol of triad, of a whole. Recorded with BRIT Award-winning producer Ethan Johns (Paul McCartney, Kings of Leon, Laura Marling, Ray LaMontagne), they blend Anglo-Celtic folk and digital synthesis with her classical singer-songwriter grounding, beginning in an orchestral, bitter, piano driven world—and ending somewhere else entirely. Strap yourself in for a poetic and adventurous debut. A rich meditation on self, becoming and reinvention led by a distinctive voice—for fans of Fiona Apple, Laura Marling and Sufjan Stevens.
